Sirens are blaring. Missiles are falling.
Yet… Purim is coming!
ליהודים היתה אורה ושמחה!
Fear, panic and uncertainty mix with joy, miracles, and the absolute certainty that Hashem is running
this show.
Like all of us, Ezrat Achim has been busy dealing with the urgent, conflicting needs of this very
conflicting time. Our emergency hotline has been flooded with calls requesting help – particularly from
the elderly residents of our city.
For a senior of limited mobility, the threat of a missile attack at any moment effectively means that they
are homebound until the end of the war. Unable to race for shelter in 90 seconds, they need to stay
close to a Mamad at all times. So what do they do when they find themselves without food or
medications?
They call us.
Since the current war’s outbreak, Rav Avremi Kop has been running to grocery stores and pharmacies,
purchasing vital supplies and delivering them to vulnerable elderly residents.
We are reaching out to request your urgent support for this emergency need. There are hundreds of
elderly residents of Beit Shemesh who regularly rely on Ezrat Achim for help, and are turning to us now
to ensure they have their vital needs taken care of during this war.
At the same time, Purim is coming! Ezrat Achim’s incredible Chesed Kitchen staff has been busy
preparing Purim seudahs for thousands of community members who are unable to make Purim on their
own – families with ill patients in the hospital, the elderly or disabled, or those struggling with serious
financial debt or some other crisis.
Because even with a war going on, we know they are counting on us to give them a joyous Purim.
Please – can we count on you?
Provide vital emergency supplies to the homebound elderly!
Provide a Purim seudah for families in need!
May we all be zocheh to experience a Purim of nissim v’nifla’os – .אשר ישלטו היהודים המה על שונאיהם
With warmest thanks,
Avraham Kop
