Since its founding in 2005, Ezrat Achim has grown from a small, backyard initiative into Beit Shemesh’s foremost support network, providing a full range of services in health, welfare, and education – particularly for the ill, individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and new mothers.
Our incredible scope includes dozens of programs and assists thousands of families.
Yet, in a city – home to one of Israel’s largest Anglo immigrant populations – that has nearly doubled in size over the past decade and continues its explosive growth, our current resources have been stretched to their limits.
To ensure that we can assist every person in need, Ezrat Achim is constructing a new, advanced community center that will bring all services under one roof. The new facility will streamline operations, shorten response times, and ensure ongoing personalized support for every resident.
The new, expansive facility will offer extensive, accessible, integrated social services for all communities throughout the city.
The building will house multiple departments providing medical care, support for children and adults with disabilities, emergency response, community integration programs for people with disabilities, and assistance in times of crisis. As such, it will become a central community hub that connects, supports, and saves lives – improving the daily quality of life for thousands of residents, both during normal times and in emergency situations.
Day programs, activities, and therapies offered seven days a week — including holidays and special occasions. The center features an accessible fitness room, emotional and sensory therapies, support groups for families, advocacy assistance, and a dedicated parent hotline for guidance and support.
This pioneering center will deliver holistic, personalized care for patients with advanced illnesses through a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists and para-health professionals, addressing the patient’s physical and emotional needs. It will also support families, provide equipment and meals, and promote community awareness and training in palliative care.
The beating heart of our vast communal support services, this division coordinates over 1,400 volunteers and 700 community representatives across the city. During both routine times and emergencies, the department responds to the thousands of requests for help with personalized care – connecting people, touching hearts, and building a strong foundation of compassion and giving among the city’s residents.
A rapid-response unit operating in partnership with security and rescue forces, providing aid during both major crises and local emergencies.
