Respite Weekends

A vital break for families of children with disabilities

When there’s a child with disabilities in a family, the household tends to center life around that child’s
constant needs. With so much focus dedicated to caring for one child, parents often find themselves
without time or energy to give proper attention to the rest of their family. Ezrat Achim’s respite
weekends provide a critical solution to this challenge – offering parents a vital break on Shabbos,
holidays and special occasions.
The respite weekends include overnight stays in the center’s facilities, tailored social activities, and a
Shabbos/holiday atmosphere, with quality, festive meals. Everything is overseen by a team of
coordinators and volunteers, with an emphasis on professional care, staff training, and strict safety
protocols to ensure that the child and the entire family will all enjoy this mutually-beneficial, re-
energizing respite.
